Information We Collect

Information Wizikey Stores Directly

When you use the Wizikey platform (subscription service), we store the following data in our database as part of managing your authenticated session:

Workspace identifier	Links the session to your organization's workspace
User agent	Browser and device information (e.g., Chrome on macOS)
Location	Approximate geographic location derived at login
Session timestamps	When the session was created, last active, and ended
Refresh token	A secure token used to renew your session without re-authentication

This data is collected solely for the purpose of maintaining a secure, authenticated session. It is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. Session records are retained for the duration of your account and for 12 months following account deletion.

Information Collected by Third-Party Analytics Tools
We use the following third-party analytics tools.
Google Analytics - collects:
- Pages visited
- Time spent on pages
- Visitor origin and traffic source
- Aggregate visitor counts
PostHog - collects:
- User events and navigation behavior
- Session duration
- Feature interaction and engagement patterns
Note: Google Analytics is used on the public website (wizikey.com) only. PostHog is used on both the public website and within the Wizikey subscription-based platform to understand product usage.
Legal basis for PostHog: On the public website, PostHog cookies are set only with your consent. Within the authenticated platform, PostHog analytics operate under Wizikey’s Legitimate Interest in improving its service (see Privacy Policy for details).
These tools collect data under their own privacy policies. Wizikey does not store this analytics data in its own database. See the Third-Party Cookies section below for details.
Information Collected Automatically
Google Analytics automatically collects aggregate behavioral information about visitors to the public website. PostHog collects product usage and behavioral data on both the public website and within the Wizikey platform. This information is analyzed to improve content, features, and user experience.

Authentication and Session Cookies
When you log in to the Wizikey platform using OTP verification, Google SSO, or Enterprise SSO (OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect), we set an authentication session cookie to maintain your loggedin state. This cookie:
- Contains a JSON Web Token (JWT) used to identify your authenticated session
- Is HTTP-only — not accessible via JavaScript, reducing XSS risk
- Is Secure — transmitted only over HTTPS encrypted connections Is scoped to the wizikey.com domain
- Uses a sliding session mechanism — session validity extends with each activity, and the session expires after a defined period of inactivity rather than at a fixed date
- Is removed when you explicitly log out or your session expires
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the subscription-based Wizikey platform. Without them, you cannot stay logged in.
Third-Party Cookies
We use cookies from trusted third parties.
Google Analytics
Scope: Public website (wizikey.com) only. Google Analytics is used exclusively for analytics on our public marketing website and is not deployed within the Wizikey subscription-based application platform.
Used to:
- Understand how visitors use the Site

PostHog Analytics
Scope: Public website (wizikey.com) and the Wizikey subscription-based platform. PostHog is used for product analytics on both the public marketing website and within the authenticated Wizikey application.

Examples of data collected:

- Navigation behavior

Social Media Links
Some pages contain links to Wizikey’s official profiles on social media platforms, including:
- Twitter
- Facebook
- LinkedIn
- YouTube
- Instagram
These are standard outbound links and do not set cookies or embed third-party scripts on the Wizikey Site. Clicking a link will take you to the respective platform, which operates under its own privacy policy

Email Delivery Sub-Processor

Wizikey uses Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service (AWS SES) to deliver transactional emails, including:

OTP authentication codes
Account notifications and alerts
Service-related communications

AWS SES is a data sub-processor that processes your email address solely for the purpose of delivering these communications. AWS SES does not set cookies and is not a website tracking service. AWS operates under a Data Processing Addendum with Wizikey and processes data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Controlling Cookies

Users who do not wish to accept analytics or tracking cookies may configure their browser settings to block third-party cookies. Most modern browsers allow you to:

Block all third-party cookies
Block cookies from specific domains
Delete cookies after each browsing session
Use private or incognito browsing mode

Important: Blocking essential session cookies (the Wizikey authentication cookie) will prevent you from logging in to the Wizikey platform. Blocking third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, PostHog) will not affect core platform functionality.

Wizikey does not operate a cookie preference centre or opt-out tool. To opt out of analytics tracking, configure your browser as described above.

Browser Controls

Wizikey does not respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals. There is no current industry standard for interpreting DNT signals, and Wizikey does not alter its data collection practices based on DNT settings. Users who wish to limit tracking may configure their browser to block third-party cookies as described in the Controlling Cookies section above.

Conditions of Use

By visiting the Wizikey Site, your use of the Site and any privacy-related disputes are subject to this Cookie Statement.
